Press release – Trade Committee reactions to signing of trade agreement between EU and Indonesia

The EU and Indonesia signed the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) and an Investment Protection Agreement (IPA) to boost trade and investment, ensuring environmental and social standards. The deal will benefit EU exporters, provide market access, and strengthen economic ties. The agreement after 9 years of negotiations will eliminate tariffs on agricultural products and save €600 million in duties annually. The European Parliament will examine and approve the agreement for ratification.
