Press release – MEPs to quiz candidates for the seat of the new European Customs Authority

MEPs will be conducting a Q&A session with cities vying to host the new European Customs Authority to assess their infrastructure plans and capability to support the centralized authority in a complex trade environment. Nine cities have submitted bids, and the European Parliament's Internal Market Committee will scrutinize and compare them before an internal vote on the preferred location. The EU is establishing the EUCA to enhance customs cooperation and risk management. The decision on the headquarters will be made jointly by the European Parliament and the Council.
