MEPs have supported a new EU defence innovation program, AGILE, which aims to streamline defence innovation cycles emphasizing quick and disruptive technologies. The program focuses on supporting SMEs and start-ups, enabling procurement by Ukraine, and enhancing controls over technology transfer. AGILE functions as a pilot project in the current EU budget but aims to inform future defense innovation initiatives. The primary goal is to accelerate innovation deployment to counter emerging security challenges effectively.
