The European Parliament will renovate the Paul-Henri Spaak building in Brussels to meet the latest environmental, technical, and security standards. The renovation, costing €455 million over 2024-2031, aims to improve energy efficiency, environmental performance, and functionality while engaging citizens. The building is expected to achieve nearly zero-energy and zero-emission status and be certified under global sustainability standards. The project is scheduled to start in 2027 with an inauguration in 2030.
