MEPs approved legislation to implement EU tariff commitments under the EU-US joint statement until December 2029. The legislation eliminates tariffs on US industrial goods and provides preferential access for seafood and agricultural goods. It includes a sunset clause, conditions on steel and aluminium derivatives, and a safeguard mechanism for EU industry. The legislation strengthens trade relations and provides the EU with the ability to respond if the US doesn't comply.
