The European Parliament approved €1.9 million from the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund to support 416 workers laid off after the bankruptcy of Casa International in Belgium. The fund will assist in job-search support, career counseling, and skills training to help these workers find new employment. The EU will cover 85% of the costs, with the remaining 15% funded by the Flemish Public Employment Service. The EGF has supported over 181,000 individuals in 20 member states with €727 million disbursed.
