MEPs approved a revised Framework Agreement enhancing Parliament's role in shaping EU legislation, clarifying Commission emergency powers, and ensuring Commissioners' presence in debates. The agreement strengthens democratic accountability and institutional dialogue. The approval signifies improved cooperation, transparency, and effectiveness between the European Parliament and Commission. The agreement, building on a 2010 version, aims to enhance information flow, parliamentary scrutiny, and accountability. This step forwards must be complemented by the strategic utilization of Parliament's rights and responsibilities for effective implementation. The signed agreement is set to come into force after a plenary session in March.
