The European Parliament voted to allocate €144.1 million from the European Union Solidarity Fund to support Spain, Romania, and Cyprus in recovering from wildfires, floods, and heatwaves in 2025. Spain will receive €120.55 million, Romania €14.34 million, and Cyprus €9.21 million. The EU aid will assist in emergency response measures, infrastructure restoration, and temporary accommodations. The EU Solidarity Fund has provided over €10 billion for 147 disaster events since 2002, with the 2025 wildfire season being the most destructive on record.
